Don’t Fall in Love When You're Young

Don't fall in love when you're young
(Yea I know I already write that as a title)

I just want to share that I finally understand why my family used to keep telling me about this.
There's no doubt I'll do the same with my future teens someday, even if they might not listen.
Well, it takes time.

The word 'young' here refers to your teenage years.
When you are young, you are supposed to learn how to be happy on your own. Because when you get into a relationship, you learn how to be someone's partner, not how to be yourself.
You are taught to seek happiness, attention and validation only from your partner.
Then you got your heart break many times at such a young age when you are still unstable for yourself.
Too naive, too blind to see that the only unconditional love is loving and finding yourself.
One day you start to realize who you are, what you want, and what you like when you grow up.
Your thinking will be different in your 20s. The way like everyone can claim they love you, but not everyone can treat you right.

So please, to young fellows out there, put yourself first, every bit of you.
Don't get too attached to a person when you're young, don't date that person for years just because it feels familiar, don't depend your life on that person, don’t rush to be in love with someone when you’re not capable of loving yourself yet.
Your love is so sincere to love someone else more than you love yourself.
Believe me, I've seen enough and I'm over that.

I hope each of you will truly, madly, deeply in love with yourself first and eventually find the right person in the end, just like I found mine. CHEERS!
